Mabe Fratti and Hector Tosta (also known as I. la Católica) are Titanic. The duo introduced themselves to the world last fall with the sprawling, mosaic-like debut album ‘Vidrio’. If music were to be projected, theirs would need to be reflected on the widest screen available, as the two seasoned musicians are fearless in their quest to go bigger, wider, bolder. Fratti’s voice, alongside her cello, and the lush experimental territories she and Tosta meticulously (but adventurously) draw up, give their first record together a blockbuster, cinematic quality rather impossible to ignore.
