Talk: From the Ground Up: On Creating Space & Community
Nothing is more noble, more impactful, and more challenging than trying to make a difference in your immediate surroundings. While the practice of creating space and opportunities for those around you may start with a singular idea, it’s usually a long, hard-fought process that takes the dedication of many minds and hands working in unison. In this panel, three community organizers from Detroit, Nairobi, and Rotterdam compare notes on their respective projects. What unique perks and challenges come with the respective regions? What’s different, and what’s universally applicable when trying to build a new space and a whole new community from the ground up?
