Talk: Digging Against The Algorithm
Let’s face it. Algorithms play a significant role in how we find music today. With digital platforms offering us more of what we already know, this panel considers how we can work against algorithms to find what is completely unknown to us. How can we take advantage of existing digital platforms to discover new music? Can we build a decentralized network to discover these new sounds and geographies?
And how can these online communities ultimately contribute to physical communities, whether in terms of internal musical practices or the global awareness they create?
