Stachel
PUNK CONNECTIONS
Stachel is a two-piece punk band from Utrecht, influenced by old German and Dutch punk. Their mostly political lyrics match with their DIY attitude: self-recording and self-distributing their records (regularly in collaboration with other subcultural groups and labels), playing benefit shows and supporting alternative culture. At their shows, people can dance the vertical pogo together and sing along to some difficult German lyrics such as Sollbruchstelle. And there's always a little rainbow somewhere...
This performance is part of ‘PUNK CONNECTIONS: music, art & activism through DIY ideology’, a program curated by our community curator Bibi Bannink in collaboration with dB’s. Because of the eagerness in broadening the intersectionality of the punk scene and a more interdisciplinary approach, they invite artists from various social/cultural backgrounds, who show their art and their voice. Because the punk scene originated from a feeling of oppression, it is important to show the position of these identities and their differences within this scene.
