Širom
Diverse musical approaches, tools, and histories come together in the repertoire of Iztok Koren, Samo Kutin, and Ana Kravanja. This Slovenian trio's work as Širom is inhabited with one-off imagination and craftsmanship, channeled through more than a dozen instruments and countless musical forms. However, they resist the temptation of only reflecting existing patterns - instead, they uncover a unique pendulum, which swings between folk sensibilities and contemporary, acoustic rock-style mode of brooding. The result is a grounded yet mystical sound, heard on the trio's most recent release, 2022’s 'The Liquified Throne of Simplicity'.
