Hopeton Overton Brown picked a perfect alias for himself. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, the ingenious recording engineer became known for delving into his practice, tinkering and practicing in order to find answers - just like a man in a lab coat would. Scientist’s laboratory, however, is the booth, and his subjects are dub, reggae, and dance hall. Many decades after leaving King Tubby’s wing to become the principal engineer for Channel One, Scientist keeps refining the dub formula for our listening pleasure.
