A Glimpse of Amman’s Buzzing Nightlife & the Layali il Uns Music Club
Reports from Other Continents
Music has always been missed in Amman… Or at least this is what we thought to be true. Amman is not a musically loud city; it's not Cairo and definitely not Beirut. The music scene changed after the Arab Spring as revolution and resistance started to influence the work of young musicians. Now, Amman’s night's are buzzing with underground dance spaces and jam sessions for classical Arabic music, as well as independent and revolutionary music. This short documentary shows a glimpse of Amman’s music scene through the eyes of free-spirited musician Omran, the "son of the diaspora.” Also, we shine a light on Layali il Uns, a celebrated music club founded by Omran and Joud Al Tamimi.
