Named after a mysterious spiritual realm in ancient Himalayan myths, Olmo Lungring is the solo side-project of Russian artist Dimitry el Demerdashi. Starting in 2006, Olmo Lungring gradually evolved from experimental beats and electro-acoustic, para-Tibetan rituals to an all-encompassing folklore project. By using traditional instruments, Olmo Lungring employs familiar sounds to imagine his folklore, that of an imaginary land; not quite an ethnological forgery, but more so a reinvention of Jorge Luis Borges' fictionalized worlds of Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius.
