As Olan Mill, UK sound artist Alex Smalley’s work holds a sublime measure between the realms of modern neo-classical composition and ambience, with tender and elegant clusters of sound. His latest album ‘Curves’ was built upon field recordings from his home and various work environments. Layers of processed guitar, synthesisers and voice were added to create a time-capsule of locations and experiences. Around his live performance at Le Guess Who?, he will release his new album on Shimmering Moods.
