De Nijverheid is a cultural haven in Utrecht’s Werkspoorkwartier district, with artists’ studios and creative workspaces for more than 50 autonomous artists, designers and creatives.
Het Kleinste Kamertje, an analogue-based collective consisting of five photographers, welcomes visitors into the world of analogue photography. Lighting, chemical processes, the red lightbulb in the darkroom, photosensitive media; learn everything there is to know about the process, from taking the picture to the final negative.
With the emergence of ChatGPT is an AI generated text not that special anymore. There’s still enough the research about the best way AI and humans can collaborate. That’s why we want to put this to test. During U? We will open the doors of our brand new building at the Nijverheidskade so you can submerge yourself in the world of AI-Smartlappen. Generate your own tearjerker together with the algorithm and show it to the world. Technical knowledge is not necessary, but do bring your deepest soul stirrings with you. You will need them!
Next to that two residents have been given the keys to the residency studio at De Nijverheid. During U? they will present their work. Also on show in the Nijverheid grounds: art at De Tunnel, EXboot and the Zandpadmuseum.
De Nijverheid is een culturele vrijhaven in het Werkspoorkwartier in Utrecht met ateliers en creatieve werkplekken voor ruim 50 autonome kunstenaars, ontwerpers en creatieve makers.
Het Kleinste Kamertje, een analoog collectief bestaande uit vijf fotografen, opent de deuren naar de wereld van analoge fotografie. Licht, chemische processen, de roodverlichte doka, lichtgevoelige media; leer alles over het proces van het maken van de foto tot het uiteindelijke negatief.
Met de komst van ChatGPT is een tekst genereren met AI alles behalve bijzonder. Toch is er nog genoeg te onderzoeken als het gaat om de beste samenwerking tussen mens en AI. Daarom nemen wij de proef op de som en gooien we onze deuren open tijdens het U? Festival. Kom langs in ons gloednieuwe pand aan de Nijverheidskade en dompel jezelf onder in de wereld van AI-Smartlappen. Genereer je eigen tranentrekker in samenwerking met het algoritme en gooi ‘m onder muzikale begeleiding de wereld in. Technische kennis is niet nodig, maar neem wel je diepste zielenroerselen mee. Die zullen goed van pas komen!
Daarnaast krijgen twee residenten een maand lang de sleutel van het residentieatelier van De Nijverheid. Tijdens U? presenteren ze hun werk. Verder zie je op het terrein kunst in De Tunnel, EXboot en het Zandpadmuseum.
