Europe-based booth maverick Nazar is heading to Le Guess Who? for an impactful hybrid set. The Angolan producer coined the term ‘Rough Kuduro’ - a combative reading of the Angolan music and dance style. His debut EP, ‘Enclave’, was the first to embody Nazar’s angrier version of ‘kuduro’; a mirror forcibly held up to the uglier edges of Angola. Throughout his releases, he has employed it to achieve catharsis, delving into the narratives of his nation's shared memory and his family’s past - including his father’s wartime journal. It yields something real, dark, and impossible to look away from.
