For this special performance, Palestinian artists Maya Al Khaldi and Sarouna invite visual artist Dina Mimi to the Le Guess Who? stage. Maya Al Khaldi and Sarouna came together for the making of Al Khaldi’s debut album, ‘ي عالم - Other World’, released two years ago. Now, the collection of songs, which imagine a new sonic future inspired by the folklore of Palestine, echo meaningfully. Al Khaldi and Sarouna’s work pays tribute to their country’s musical heritage, with every track built upon lyrics, melodies, or samples from the traditional music archive of the Popular Art Center.
