German DJ & producer Mark Ernestus is a sucker for African and Jamaican music. Ernestus’s seven-year collaboration with Ndagga Rhythm Force started during a trip through Senegal, where he was looking for tribal Mbalax rhythms used in traditional Saba music. Their thrilling 2016 album 'Yermande' is a dazzling percussive beast, clipped with piercing electronics, thumping bass and Mbene Diatta Seck’s soaring open-throated spirituality.
