Listening to Mari Kalkun’s beautiful voice and songs, even if just for a brief moment in time, will certainly transport you to the Estonian countryside - even if you’ve never been. It’s only fitting that this awarded folk musician decided to present her latest work, last year’s ‘Apple Orchard’, from her very own garden, surrounded by blossoming trees; her music has the power to sound like a familiar lullaby, even to the untrained, foreign ear.
