Composer Maarten Vos is what you’d call a voyager: he transforms traditional instrumentation into newfangled sounds and wields technology like something intricately human. Known as much for his outlier, exploratory approach to the cello as his work with modular synthesizers, he’s part of an exciting movement of artists – along with Alex Smoke, Colin Benders and Joep Beving – whose singular craft overlaps a multitude of disciplines and eras. Scenography for this show is done by artist Nick Verstand.
