Lamisi
Through harmonised chants and intricate handclaps, Lamisi channels the ancestral voices of Northern Ghanaian women, carrying forward traditions passed down through generations. Her music uplifts and empowers young girls in a region where cultural traditions often sideline them in favour of their male counterparts. In a place where education for girls is still a battle, Lamisi stands as a role model, using her platform to break cycles and build futures. Her traditional melodies and rich polyrhythms blend with the contemporary pop production by fellow band member, producer and activist Wanlov the Kubolor.
