LA Timpa

Born in Nigeria, the artist, musician, producer, singer, and songwriter known as LA Timpa relocated to Canada in the early aughts, where he spent his formative years surrounded by religion, other immigrants, suburbia, and, naturally, music. In 2016, he released his first-ever project, the EP ‘Animal’. From there, he carried on steadily making records. His most recent full-length, ‘Pity by One All Good Treasure’, was launched last fall via label O___o?.  Per usual, LA Timpa casts a wide net; to ‘subconsciously understand the vast nature of death, erotica, devotion, aliment, wilful change, and the nature of man and life’. Accordingly, the record is ghostly and sparse, welcoming the listener’s own philosophizing.
