‘Border-agnostic’, is how Pitchfork described Julmud’s music in a 2022 write-up about ‘Tuqoos’, the Ramallah music producer, researcher, sound engineer, and designer’s first album. For Julmud, stitching together sounds is all in pursuit of inventing his very own non-generic form of music. Having produced for and collaborated with numerous artists, such as Haykal, Muqata’a, and fellow Le Guess Who? performer Al Nather, the tireless creative has been tacitly broadening his already-spacious approach, while conserving a distinctively Palestinian identity, as he is currently making much more music, alone and with others.
