Jolanda Moletta
She Owl frontwoman Jolanda Moletta transformed isolation into a profoundly personal project of ancestral connection called 'Nine Spells', released this summer. On it, solitude is immediately conveyed, as it is only her voice that is heard throughout. Centering the vocal, the Turin-born, Berlin-based musician rediscovers her origins, a desire she had felt already on tour. For her first solo outing, she encircles herself with her female ancestors, uncovering generation-spanning memories, sensations and stories. Each of her Spells is accompanied by recipe notes, collages, boxes, and videos; with each we are invited into her innermost world.
