Joanne Robertson
Known for the whisper-like tenderness of her music, Scottish songwriter Joanne Robertson has cemented her place in the femme-folk tradition with a series of solo records - the most recent of which being 2020’s Painting Stupid Girls, released via World Music. Ever the thunderbolt, however, Robertson is multifaceted, and can be as disruptive as she is gentle. Her work with friend Dean Blunt (as in the recent ‘Black Metal 2’), for instance, is proof of her proclivity for the avant-garde. Most recently she has also released music with London-based artist Sidsel Meineche Hansen.
