James Massiah may now master multiple channels of artistic expression - producer, rapper, DJ and radio host are some of the hats he wears - but his first love, he says, is poetry. This passion is crystal clear in all of his output, such as this year’s ‘True Romance’. Entirely self-produced, Massiah’s latest is perhaps the most poetic of his so far, as the artist casually meshes the dark energy of London’s chaotic night life with the highs and lows of romantic life, redefining musical genres in the process.
