Jamael Dean & Sharada Shashidhar Quartet
Pianist and producer Jamael Dean and singer Sharada Shashidhar were already jazz prodigies in their own right, even before getting together to make more wondrous music. Dean, the grandson of legendary drummer Donald Dean, has played with the likes of Kamasi Washington and Thundercat; Sashidhar’s unforgettable voice conveys a unique blend of jazz and Indian classical music. Together, they are creating a new beat oriented spiritual jazz, taking note from their ancestry and making grand leaps forward in one fell swoop.
