Howie Lee
Composer Howie Lee’s greatest triumph isn’t even his immediately satisfying jumbling up of the traditional and futuristic. It’s how he channels such giddy enthusiasm into each one of his compositions, whether he opts to fuse traditional Chinese folk with the boisterous, polymorphic hysteria of footwork and trap. Lee works through stylistics and moods like one would scroll the web during intermissions between work shifts; a blazing sequence of thrill-seeking underpinned by an abstruse restlessness, escapism and anxiety.
