Habibi Funk DJ Set
Curated by Animal Collective
Jannis Stürtz first had the idea of co-founding his own music label amid traveling to North Africa. It was there that the Berlin-based crate digger was introduced to a brand new world of music from the Arab world of the sixties, seventies, and eighties from countries like Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Lebanon, Jordan, UAE, and Egypt. Their eclectic, funky mixes, which often introduce the listener to a stereotype-free vision of Arab music, can be best experienced on the dancefloor - for instance, at the label’s DJ set.
