Gigi Masin
Curated by Devendra Banhart
Oft-sampled though never imitated, Italian composer Gigi Masin’s deft ambient collages first entered our consciousness in the 1970s. Masin finally earned recognition with his 1986 LP ‘Wind’, reflecting the melancholic backdrifts and rustic majesty of Venice. After losing all of his archives in 2007 in a flood, Masin joined forces with Dutch label Music From Memory for ‘Talk To The Sea’, a compilation of his past work. This year, Masin continued his artistic quest in headstrong fashion with new album ‘Kite’.
