Seven years later, Ex-Easter Island Head is returning to Le Guess Who?. When this UK-based experimental musical collective steps on stage, the electric guitar (an instrument whose possibilities sometimes seem to have been exhausted) is born anew. Mechanical preparations, extended techniques; call it what you want, but, to us, it’s more like magic. Glistening drones exhale from the instrument as we hear it again for the first time. Ex-Easter Island Head is turning neo-classical on its head, and their new approach has led The Guardian to deem them ‘free-flowing genius’.
