Dua Rasa with Insan Larasati
Nusaqueer Diaspora
Dua Rasa, meaning “Two Flavors” in Indonesian, represents the collaborative efforts of Ezanneo, an undergrad cultural researcher, specializing in food and space design, and Samsara, an artistic researcher with a background in illustration. Together, they explore how culinary practices can challenge eurocentric conceptions of knowledge. They conceived Dua Rasa to host supper clubs and spontaneous pop-ups featuring their interpretations of Indonesian flavors. Existing as something beyond catering, Dua Rasa serves as a bridge for communicating our artistic endeavors by augmenting their practice into experiences rather than simply providing food. Dua Rasa aims to imbue its surrounding communities through supporting a third space that foregoes euro-individualistic colonial practices. When you attend a Dua Rasa event, you can expect to be served dinner with a side of knowledge.
During this community dinner, Insan Larasati will host an open discussion with members of different Indonesian and Southeast Asian Archipelagan diasporas.
