At the age of 27, Anderson do Paraíso - or ‘queridão’, meaning ‘the dearest’ - has made himself a legend in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The seminal artist is known for turning the unmistakable Brazilian funk beat into something else, something much bleaker. His ghostly songs soundtrack the eerie quietness that follows the party. Thanks to his innovative approach, Anderson do Paraíso is turning the world-renowned chaotic genre into something radically minimal, in which silences are far more rewarded.
