Dienne
Although this Belgian composer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist’s debut album, ‘Addio’, has only seen the light of day last month (released via Nicolas Jaar's label Other People), she is far from a novice. Known as one-half of the sister duo Lili Grace, she has already ventured into creating music for a number of theater productions and short films. Now Dienne is flourishing alone, fusing theatrical choirs, oboe melodies, and clamorous samples in an attempt to capture an absurd short-term history, a year of waxing and waning emotions.
