Cate Le Bon
Throughout 'Pompeii', her sixth studio album, Welsh musician and producer Cate Le Bon continues entertaining her signature paradoxical aesthetic. Even as she toys with a fascination for antiquity, her music is rooted in the now. Once more, the much-lauded artist (who has become a sought-after collaborator, producing albums for contemporaries such as Deerhunter and John Grant) achieves channeling intimacy and universality simultaneously. As Bradford Cox notes, Le Bon does not look simply inward or outward; but elsewhere entirely.
