Niño de Elche - Live at Le Guess Who? 2023
"This is flamenco punk", said Niño de Elche towards the end of his performance at Le Guess Who?. It's a fitting statement: the Spanish musician, who is also called a 'singer, poet and omnipresent master of ensorcelling souls' has been challenging conservative and picturesque perceptions of flamenco for over two decades.
You can relive his performance with our concert film, recorded at Utrecht's Jacobikerk during Le Guess Who? 2023.
Niño de Elche's most recent album, Flamenco. Mausoleo de Celebración, Amor y Muerte (2022), is yet another defying of the genre's canon, featuring fellow boundary-breaking musician Rosalía. As cerebral as it is sentimental, Niño de Elche’s musical proposal is unafraid to test boundaries, both on record and on the stage. Below, you can also listen to his full performance at the festival.
