Avant-garde cellist and vocalist Mabe Fratti returns to Le Guess Who? in 2024 as guest curator and performer. Now, she releases her new album Sentir Que No Sabes: a brave album, rich in both sonic inventiveness as emotional depth. At Le Guess Who?, Mabe Fratti will perform the music from the album accompanied by the London-based vocal group Shards.
Written and recorded with her partner, multi-instrumentalist, and co-composer Héctor Tosta (with whom Mabe Fratti forms Titanic, also performing at LGW24), Sentir Que No Sabes is the result of an intense, detail-oriented process. Fueled by a new confidence gained in their collaborative project, the two hunkered down in the familiarity of their studio (aka Tinho Studios) to bash out the initial sonic coordinates of her new record.
The results are stunning, and have been met with global praise, including a five-star review on The Guardian and Best New Music on Pitchfork. Tune in below.
Mabe Fratti featuring Shards perform at Le Guess Who? 2024 on Saturday, 9 November. Performing at the festival as part of Mabe Fratti's curation are a.o. Los Gaiteros de San Jacinto, Germán Bringas, Titanic, Blanco Teta, and many more.
