New York rap virtuosos billy woods and ELUCID, collectively known as Armand Hammer, are back with their much-anticipated album, We Buy Diabetic Test Strips.
This release serves as a follow-up to their 2021 cult hit Haram, produced by the Alchemist. Listeners can also expect some familiar sounds of Le Guess Who?, as the duo has invited the likes of JPEGMAFIA, Pink Siifu, Moor Mother, and DJ Haram to join them on the album - artists who have graced the LGW stage in the past.
Jazz musician Shabaka Hutchings (of a.o. Sons of Kemet, The Comet in Coming), along with engineer Willie Green and ELUCID, came together to lay the foundation for this album. ELUCID described the recording process as a dynamic assembly of talented rappers convening in the studio for the first time, where they jammed to pre-recorded beats before venturing into uncharted musical territories.
