Vudu Cru

The nautical zig-zag required to get from Rotterdam to Antwerp finds its resonance in the verbal tug-of-war of Vudu Cru, consisting of Flemish “Kannabiskrijger” (cannabis warrior) Joost Hoekaf and former Rotterdam city-poet Dean Bowen. The brand-new hip-hop project does not attempt to disrupt, but with introspective, poetic lyrics and a goldmine of samples from soul music and twentieth-century television, tends mostly to deepen.
