Seein' Red
PUNK CONNECTIONS
The legendary Amersfoort hardcore punk trio Seein' Red formed around 1989 from the ashes of Lärm. The band quickly found their line-up consisting of brothers Paul & Olav van den Berg, on guitar/vocals and drums, and Jos Houtveen on bass. This line-up still holds up after 35 years and Seein' Red never lost focus. The band rages through the hardcore punk domain with an uncompromising DIY attitude and an open eye for social activism on all fronts. They released a ton of material on albums, EP’s, splits, compilations, and more. They toured Europe, U.S.A. and Japan and played numerous shows during their career. And don't be fooled, being 60+ of age doesn't mean they have stepped back from the gas. Fast, Furious, Angry and Righteous: Seein' Red is a stalwart of hardcore punk and DIY ethics.
This performance is part of ‘PUNK CONNECTIONS: music, art & activism through DIY ideology’, a program curated by our community curator Bibi Bannink in collaboration with dB’s. Because of the eagerness in broadening the intersectionality of the punk scene and a more interdisciplinary approach, they invite artists from various social/cultural backgrounds, who show their art and their voice. Because the punk scene originated from a feeling of oppression, it is important to show the position of these identities and their differences within this scene.
