Rozario’s Rave Organs
Mees de Rozario presents his Rave Organs: fusions between street organs and sound systems. Built to bring people together to party and shake up the smooth, efficiency-oriented, anonymous street. Powered by cranks and sensors, these sculptures, instruments and speakers pay tribute to rave culture, mechanics, street music and collective fun. "For me it is extra special to do this at De Nijverheid. A few years ago I was still singing here in the kitchen, just starting art school and full of admiration for everything that happened here. In the meantime, I have also exhibited there in De Tunnel, and now I'm back—this time not behind the stove, but on the terrace." Expect organ remixes, techno, and especially singing and dancing together. “The only good system is a soundsystem.”
