Mo DJ is one of the first artists to successfully integrate Malian music within the electronic mixing spectrum. His journey began as cassette salesman at one of the station roads in Bamako, Mali, moonlighting as a DJ within the city’s nightlife. With just a double tape recorder at his disposal, Moriké Keita is a groove wizard of the highest order, able to produce and mix tracks that match the piercing, infectious intensity of a live band. Once his vibrant remixes caught the ears of Amadou and Mariam’s manager, his singular craft started to spellbind the rest of the world.
