Lost Animal
Curated by Tropical Fuck Storm
First familiar, then mysterious; catchy, then saturated and atmospheric. Jarrod Quarrell aka Lost Animal is a songwriter and producer meshing hard-edged lyricism with percussive soundscapes, and fond of pre-rock songwriting. His debut album Ex Tropical (2013) was internationally acclaimed for its eclectic alternative pop flair and expansive drone soundscapes; booming rhythms and slow-burning nods towards the ecstatic. While taking an extended hiatus from recording, his first and sophomore album, You Yang (2016), have gradually grown in stature among the Australian underground scene, including Le Guess Who? 2026 guest curators Tropical Fuck Storm. Joined by new collaborator Dan Luscombe, Lost Animal is set to release a third album in 2026 and perform for the first time in Europe.
Post-apocalyptic acid punk disco scuzzheads Tropical Fuck Storm return to Le Guess Who? for a guest curation that feels like a homecoming. When asked to select artists for this year's edition, they went, as they put it, "a little wild". They've curated a sonically diverse mix featuring longtime musical inspirations, friends and collaborators; artists that they've met on the road, and acts that they've been eager to see live.
