Before he turned fifteen, Asseem Waajeed (Robert O' Bryant IV) was living many producers' dreams. By then, the prodigious DJ and producer had started collaborating with mythical beatmaker J Dilla. Raised among the budding Detroit hip-hop, techno, and funk scene that spanned talents such as Donald Bird, Amp Fiddler, and, of course, Dilla himself, Waajeed has always found a way to keep the the city’s spirit alive, whether through Detroit groups Platinum Pied Pipers, Tiny Hearts, or his own Bling47 label.
