Sandy Chamoun

Beirut-based artist Sandy Chamoun’s music is very much informed by her lingering interest in a plethora of subjects: audio-visual arts, politics, satire, and folk music. Her newest album, ‘sawt el doumoue’, sees this fascinating creator embark on yet another journey. This time around, Chamoun was inspired by Cantu a Tenore, a polyphonic folk singing tradition from Sardinia that celebrates humanity's triumph over nature. Thanks to a polyphonic hardtune plugin courtesy of Anthony Sahyoun, Chamoun was able to ask through song what this triumph actually means nowadays.
Sandy Chamoun is commissioned as part of The Consortium Commissions—a project initiated by Mophradat.
