Mimosa

Beyond just music, Mimosa, the new project by Mbé, Leyblack Beats and Luiz Felipe Lucas, is an in-depth socio-cultural manifesto in which the three artists analyze, with an archeological eye, the sound and movement of Black Brazilian bodies. Conceptualized in a residence of the three artists at the Etopia Centro de Arte e Tecnologia in Zaragoza, Spain, the record employs the cabezadenego character to trace a history often erased - one of hip-hop, and drum ‘n’ bass, as well as terreiro and samba. Alongside label QTV, the three artists are recounting crucial sonic narratives.
