'Jarak Qaribak' by Dudu Tassa and Jonny Greenwood

Jarak Qaribak roughly translates as ‘Your Neighbor Is Your Friend’. This very inclusive, expansive sentiment can be felt throughout Dudu Tassa and Jonny Greenwood’s 2023 crossover of the same name. In keeping with the theme established by the album’s chosen title, the musicians not only play together but invite singers from all over the Middle East to hitch on. When hearing the record he made with Radiohead and The Smile’s guitarist, Israeli singer, musician, and producer Tassa wants listeners to be both marveled and puzzled; ‘what’s going on?’, he wants them to say, upon hearing the pair’s purposeful musical investigation.
