DJ Lycox is part of a long line of vital cutting-edge producers signed by pan-African Portuguese label Príncipe. Lycox laces elements from kuduro, batida and tarraxhina into a nimble sound that sits in a nice sweet spot; somewhere between the physicality of a live band and a vivid, vibey dreamscape. Each track contains a tactile, sonically-satisfying rhythmic undercurrent, fuelled by rattling percussive bursts and jazzy flourishes.
